Make a Book 2017

TY Microbiology Poster Competition

Stacey Torres was a competition winner at the TY Microbiology Poster Competition 2016/17 at the Moyne Institute. Stacey was the winner of one weeks work experience at the Microbiology labs later this year.

Safer Internet Day 2017

Our first year students were fantastic ambassadors while launching Safer Internet Day with the Minister of Education Richard Bruton. Well done to our student Julia Bilt who was interviewed by RTÉ, promoting internet safety at Facebook HQ.

Street Law Programme

Our TY students completed their Street Law programme today with a visit to the Central Criminal Court, where they staged and participated in their own pre-prepared trial. Thank you to all involved. Here are some photos of their experience and the fun they had!

Grandparents Day

Students invited their grandparents into the School for "Celebrating Grandparents' Day", on on Friday, February 3rd. This was part of our Catholic Schools Week programme. The day was a great success enjoyed equally by grandparents and students. The day started with a breakfast of croissants and pancakes followed by mass in St Michaels Church with Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School.

Community Awareness of Drugs

Start Date: 12th January 2017 at Mercy Secondary School, Inchicore. The talk begins at 10am and ends at 12am each week with a break in between. Contact Fiona Smith at 4531262 for further details. All are welcome and if you missed the first week come along anyway.

Phil Hett

It is with profound sadness that the Management and Staff of Mercy Secondary School, Inchicore, have learned of the death of Phil Hett our late colleague and friend. She was a much loved member of our school community, especially in her different roles as Irish and Geography teacher, tutor, Year Head and HSCL and she will be greatly missed. Our sincere sympathy is extended to her family at this time. "Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam Dílis"

As part of our Historical Thinking programme in the school, the first year students attended the GPO Witness History Vistor Centre.

Maths Week Achievements

As part of Maths week, our students worked with Manga High which is an adaptive games-based resource designed to get the students engaged with Maths. Two of our students (Ifunanya Chukwuewuzie and Patricia Ignat) were Gold Medalists which is proof of how much work the students did on Manga High.
